  • • an illegitimate, superfluous name (Shenzhen ICN Art. 52) originally based on Andropogon polydactylon L., nom. superfl.
  • • Swartz should have transferred A. barbata L. (1759), upon which A. polydactylon is based, for this taxon
  • • since Swartz is the "original author" of this name, as it has no basionym, his use of a Latin termination is not correctable under Shenzhen ICN Art. 23.5
